A month into the pandemic, our designer texted me. She said that she wanted to quit because work no longer brought her pleasure. She said that she was tired of the sudden isolation and couldn't create in the new paradigm.

Our designer wasn't the only one. My whole team looked like it was in dire need of anxiety management. I started looking for a solution, then saw a Therappy ad on Facebook, and decided to look into the matter. I decided to give it a go because I personally liked the app: it seemed pretty straightforward to me and, most importantly, I felt like I could trust it because the app is based on the scientific approach of CBT. (Not that I don't enjoy meditations, but I wanted proven methods to apply to my employees.)

We implemented Therappy in June. Certainly, it couldn't completely replace personal psychotherapy, yet the employees who listened to the sessions said that they felt calmer and "much more in one piece".

I look forward to more Therappy courses. I heard there's going to be a course on procrastination, and that should bring some valuable information for me and our team.

What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and how does it work?
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychological treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders and severe mental illnesses. Numerous research studies suggest that CBT leads to significant improvement in functioning and quality of life. In many studies, CBT has been demonstrated to be as effective as, or more effective than, other forms of psychological therapy or psychiatric medications.

Effectively, CBT works as a psychological cookbook: you come with a problem, CBT gives you a recipe to fix that problem. By learning the CBT theory basics and by doing practical exercises, you will develop coping skills, change your automatiс thinking patterns, control problematic emotions, and, hence, improve your quality of life by making healthier choices.
What is the difference between the Therappy course and therapy appointment?
What is the difference between taking a Therappy course and going to an off-line therapist appointment?

We think that qualified therapists are cool and Therappy does not intend to replace them. You could choose Therappy in three cases:

  1. if you want to improve the quality of your life in general. By learning about CBT strategies, how distorted thinking patterns work, you'll be able change them and make healthier choices in your life.

  2. if you want to supplement regular talk-therapy to aid you in-between the sessions. Should anxiety kick in right after your regular session, you'll know how to control it better.

  3. if you are afraid of going to personal talk-therapy. Sometimes we get embarrassed speaking about our personal problems to another person, even if that person is a psychotherapist. Therappy will help you demystify therapy in general and, hopefully, get your first positive results.
Will the course help me?
It surely can, but if you do your part. Hundreds of studies have confirmed that CBT is more effective than many other types of therapies. Usually, it requires fewer sessions and has a simple-to-understand structure. Therappy also has a pretty much straightforward structure: first learn the theory, then do the exercises, after that reflect on your inner changes, and after that continue to track your old thinking patterns on a daily basis, and change them every time you catch the old ones creeping in. Working on yourself may be hard, but it's always rewarding.
